The portable Barbara Hepworth Stool was designed as an interpretation of the famous sculptor's personality. With active concentration, the sitter is poised on a seat wedged between vertical supports. Without maintaining constant force on the supports, the seat fails to function just as the sculptor found mental stability while only at work. The fully functional prototype is constructed of Baltic birch plywood, a rubberized plywood seat and aluminum fittings.

Exhibited in the EVDS Gallery February 2004.
